Retro Fi builds lo-fi character out of the things that used to be unavoidable, hiss, surface noise, hum, wobble and colouration, rather than out of bitcrushing and distortion alone. A large library of noises and textures can be driven by the dynamics of the track, so the degradation moves with the music instead of sitting underneath it. Early digital reverbs and delays are included, and it runs from a light vintage tint to something deliberately broken.
