REDD Consoles models the three valve desks Abbey Road's own Record Engineering Development Department built in-house for the studios in the 1960s. The REDD.17 and REDD.37 are built around Siemens V72 tube amplifiers, the REDD.51 around the studio's own REDD.47 preamps, and each carries a different weight and character. Equalisation is deliberately minimal, a few musical curves rather than surgical control, and pushing the drive is where the raw, hard 60s sound comes from.
