The RS124 is a heavily modified Altec compressor that Abbey Road built for its own use and treated as a secret weapon, heard on most of what the Beatles recorded there and on Paul McCartney's bass in particular. Two versions are modelled, Studio and Cutter, each with a different valve flavour. It processes and monitors in mono, stereo, left, right, mid or sides, and a sidechain highpass lets bass and kick keep their weight under heavy compression.
