The API 2500 is a VCA bus compressor built around choice, with switchable topologies, knee and detector settings that let one unit cover most compression jobs. Its reputation rests on punch, which is why it has stayed on drums and grooves through hip hop, pop and rock. API's own Thrust circuit changes how the sidechain responds to low frequencies, and Waves adds a mix control for parallel compression along with fixed or variable release up to three seconds.
