Abbey Road Reel ADT.

Reel ADT recreates Artificial Double Tracking, the tape-based doubling Abbey Road technician Ken Townsend devised for John Lennon and the Beatles. It differs from a conventional doubler in how the copy behaves. Rather than sitting at a fixed delay behind the original, the double drifts ahead of the track and behind it, and that constant movement is what keeps the effect rhythmically alive. Two independent tape decks each have their own pan, saturation and phase, and tape speed can run manually, from an LFO, in sync with the host, or at random.
