Digital Delivery and Software Licensing Policy
What customers can expect when buying audio software from Softkrtl
Last updated 3 September 2026
Authorised supply
Every product sold by Softkrtl is genuine and obtained through an authorised publisher or distributor relationship for legitimate activation with the relevant publisher.
1. Delivery timing
In most cases, digital delivery is instant after successful payment unless the product page or checkout states otherwise.
Manual fulfilment, fraud checks, upgrade or education verification, publisher systems, authorised licence-key availability or regional restrictions may cause a delay.
2. Delivery methods
Delivery may be by email containing a licence key, download or redemption link; display in your Softkrtl account; registration in a publisher account; or another method described before purchase.
Keep order-confirmation emails and securely retain licence and installer information.
3. Immediate supply during the cancellation period
For a consumer order, Softkrtl asks for an express request to begin supply during the 14-day cancellation period and an acknowledgement that beginning supply will end the right to cancel for a change of mind. Both are given by one affirmative action on a single control.
The website uses a single unticked, clearly worded control immediately before the final payment button. Softkrtl records the exact wording shown, the version of the legal pack it came from, the affirmative action and the time its own systems recorded it.
If the control is not selected, Softkrtl will not begin instant supply. Where a delayed-delivery route is not offered, the customer cannot complete an instant-delivery order without making this request.
4. When supply begins
Supply begins when Softkrtl or an authorised fulfilment partner makes a licence key, download link, redemption link, publisher-account entitlement or another usable means of access available to the customer.
For email delivery, the delivery event is normally when the message containing or linking to the entitlement is sent to the address supplied. For account delivery, it is normally when the entitlement is made available in the account.
A separate payment receipt without access to the product does not by itself necessarily mean digital supply has begun.
Where an order covers more than one licence, the point at which supply begins is recorded for each licence separately, so a partially fulfilled order can be assessed licence by licence.
5. Orders supplied in parts
Where an order covers more than one licence and Softkrtl can supply some of them but not all, we take payment only for the licences supplied and release the rest of the authorisation. The order confirmation and the VAT invoice cover those licences and state the amount paid.
The authorisation taken at checkout is a hold rather than a payment. Your bank reserves the order total, which reduces your available balance and usually appears as "pending", but the money remains in your account and Softkrtl does not hold it. When we release the balance of the authorisation, your bank returns it to your available balance. We release it at the point we take payment; how soon it appears is decided by your bank, and on a debit card it can take several working days.
If a licence we could not supply later becomes available, we may email you a payment link for it at the price on the original order, including any discount that applied to it. The link states when it expires. Using it is a separate purchase, with its own payment, order confirmation, VAT invoice and cancellation period.
If you do not use the link before it expires, or the licence cannot be supplied, that part of the order is cancelled. Nothing further is charged and there is nothing to refund. Any reward points applied to that licence are returned to your balance.
6. Order confirmation
The order confirmation is sent by email or another durable format the customer can save, and is sent before or at the same time as usable access is made available. It states the product and licence type, total price, company and support details, relevant terms, and the immediate-supply statement the customer accepted, in full.
The confirmation names the version of the legal pack the accepted wording came from, so the statement can be read from the confirmation itself without relying on a website page that may later change. Softkrtl retains records linking that wording and version to the order.
7. If delivery does not arrive
Check spam and junk folders, confirm the checkout email address, and check the relevant Softkrtl and publisher accounts.
Contact support@softkrtl.com with the order number. Do not place a duplicate order unless support advises you to do so.
If delivery fails because Softkrtl used an incorrect address despite receiving the correct address from you, we will correct the delivery. If you supplied the wrong address, we will provide reasonable assistance but may need publisher or distributor approval to redirect an entitlement.
8. Licence ownership and EULAs
You purchase a licence to use the software rather than ownership of the software itself.
Installation count, device limits, licence transfer, resale, commercial use, updates, account rules and prohibited conduct are governed by the publisher’s EULA.
9. Compatibility
Check the operating system, processor, memory, host or DAW, plug-in format, internet access and licence-manager requirements before purchase.
Where Softkrtl’s information is inaccurate, statutory rights remain unaffected. Where requirements were clearly and accurately stated and your system does not meet them, that alone does not make the product faulty.
10. Upgrade, crossgrade and education verification
Restricted licences require a qualifying product, licence or education status. Evidence may include a serial number, invoice, registered-account screenshot, institution email address or student or staff documentation.
Delivery may be held until verification is complete. Ineligible orders may be cancelled and refunded before supply.
Verification information is handled under the Privacy Policy and is limited to what is reasonably required.
11. Publisher accounts and direct registration
Some products require an account with the publisher or a third-party licence manager. Enter the account email and other registration details carefully.
Where a product will be registered directly and the action may be difficult or impossible to reverse, checkout may require you to confirm that the publisher-account details are correct.
Publisher-account information is used for fulfilment and related support under the Privacy Policy.
12. Update plans
Unless expressly stated, update plans are one-off purchases and do not renew automatically.
The right to receive updates ends after the stated period. The version already licensed may remain usable subject to the EULA.
13. Licence-key security and transfers
Do not publish, share or resell a licence key except through an authorised publisher transfer process.
Contact us immediately if you believe a key was compromised before you received it. A valid key disclosed or used after delivery may not be replaceable.
14. Discontinued products
Publishers may change installers, activation systems or product availability. Download and back up installers and licence records where the EULA permits.
We provide reasonable assistance with purchase records and authorised delivery information but cannot guarantee indefinite access to every historic publisher installer.
15. Territory
Supply is available worldwide where legally and contractually permitted. Territorial restrictions may affect products, editions, prices and licence types.
We will cancel and refund an order that cannot be supplied through the authorised channel.
16. Support and statutory rights
Softkrtl may work with publishers or distributors to diagnose activation and product issues. This does not remove Softkrtl’s responsibilities as the retailer.
The Refund and Cancellation Policy explains change-of-mind cancellations and remedies for faulty, invalid, misdescribed or undelivered digital content.
17. Trials and demonstration versions
Where a publisher offers a trial or demonstration version, Softkrtl may link to it or send the download links on request. Trials are specific to a product and version and are not available for every product.
A trial is provided by the publisher under the publisher’s own terms and may differ from the licensed product in duration, features or activation. Softkrtl does not present a trial as equivalent to the full product unless the publisher states that it is.
A trial has no effect on the immediate-supply process in section 3 or on when supply begins under section 4, and it does not reduce the statutory remedies described in the Refund and Cancellation Policy.
