PianoCentric addresses the specific difficulty of fitting a piano into a busy mix, which comes from the instrument covering a wider frequency and dynamic range than almost anything else in an arrangement. Turning the main knob clockwise brightens and tightens, lifting the part forward rather than simply making it louder. A tempo-synced delay adds motion where a piano would otherwise sit still. Greg Wells is a pianist himself, and the settings come from his own sessions.
