DeEsser reduces sibilance, the ess and shh sounds that turn harsh once a recording has been brightened for intelligibility. A preview mode plays only what is being removed, which is the fastest way to confirm you are catching sibilance rather than the whole top end. The range runs from 2 kHz to 16 kHz, and it operates wideband or split. It is just as useful on amp sim harshness, cymbals inside loops and digital synths.
