Overview
Two ends, two controls.
MV2 compresses in two directions at once, pulling loud material down and pushing quiet material up, with a control for each. Upward compression is the unusual half and the reason to reach for it, since it lifts room sound on a drum kit or detail on a track recorded too low without touching the peaks. Three controls are all there is. It is particularly effective on vocals, where the quiet end is where the character sits.
