The Linear Phase Multiband Compressor splits a signal into five fully parametric bands without the smearing conventional crossovers cause, which is why it is the usual choice for precision mastering. Transients stay focused instead of blurring across bands. Each band tracks dynamics with its own attack and release, intermodulation between bands is eliminated, and a de-masking function clarifies how each band reads against the others.
