The L4 is the modern entry in the series, built for a time when loudness by itself is no longer the goal. Five limiting algorithms cover Modern, Aggressive, Smooth, Safe and a faithful L2 mode, so character becomes a choice rather than fixed behaviour. Upward compression, adaptive clipping and release controls and true peak limiting are all included, and a gain-match button lets you compare settings at equal loudness instead of being fooled by level.
