The DPR-402 is a frequency-selective processor combining VCA compression, peak limiting and de-essing in one unit, with eleven frequency-dependent responses. It was a fixture in live sound, broadcast and studios, and is remembered in the studio for what it did to drums, particularly 80s drum machines. Waves models it with additions, running in stereo, dual mono with two sets of controls, or mid/side, offering wideband or high-frequency de-essing, and giving each channel two independent sidechains.
