Overview

Synthesis you can picture.

Things puts seven Descriptors in front of its synth engine: sound modules named after objects and ideas, such as Rubber Bands, Crystal and Alien Talk. Each pairs a main knob with a few plainly named controls, like Gum or Anger, so the label hints at what a move will do, even with no synthesis background. Underneath is an engine of 32 oscillators and 30 effects and filters, built on additive, subtractive and FM synthesis. It runs as VST, AU or standalone; Pro Tools is not supported, and online activation is required.
