Overview

Digital keys, built from harmonics.

Glassy recreates the digital electric pianos of the late '80s and '90s, most of which were built on FM or additive-style synthesis, yet it uses neither FM nor samples. Sampleson rebuilt those timbres and added new ones with spectral modelling, an approach related to additive synthesis, shaping their harmonics in detail across the keyboard. Chorus, phaser and a filtered pad layer finish the sound, and the whole instrument takes about 35 MB installed, with no separate sample library.
