Overview
Concert grand tone, without the gigabytes.
MetaPiano resynthesises a Japanese concert grand instead of playing back recordings of it. Sampleson analysed the instrument note by note into more than 64 groups of timbre components, from hammer and key noise to resonance, and the engine reassembles them each time a key is struck. Notes ring out for their full length without loops, and dynamics move smoothly rather than stepping between velocity layers. It needs around 70 MB of disk and little CPU, for players who want an acoustic grand without a multi-gigabyte library.
