SuperGate v4 writes its attack, hold and release envelope onto the audio one sample at a time from the trigger point, rather than steering expander parameters. You shape the attack and release curves by ear for the sound being isolated, guided by the detector display. Applied this way, the gain change carries no aliasing, interpolation or smearing, every opening and closing is identical, and the small variations that give each hit its feel pass unaltered. It suits drums and other tracks with spill; in Pro Tools it runs as AAX Native.
