Omnipressor.
A recreated 1970s compressor that can reverse dynamics.
£75

Overview
Dynamics, turned inside out.
Omnipressor is Eventide's plug-in emulation of its own dark-meter hardware from the 1970s, the first processor to make dynamics an effect in their own right. A single Function control spans the whole range, from steep expansion through compression and infinite compression to dynamic reversal, where loud passages come out quieter than soft ones. Attack and release times, limits on gain and attenuation, and a side chain input shape the response, from gentle levelling to aggressive, pumping effects.
Highlights
Function control sweeps from extreme expansion to infinite compression
Dynamic reversal makes loud signals quiet and quiet signals loud
Gating, expansion, compression and limiting in one processor
Variable attack and release times
Separate limits on maximum gain and maximum attenuation
Side chain lets another source drive the level detector
Dozens of factory presets covering a range of instruments
Requires an iLok account; no physical dongle needed
