Articulate.

Articulate brings a synth-style ADSR to recorded audio. It splits the envelope of a sound into attack, decay, sustain and release, which Newfangled calls Smack, Punch, Body and Air, and gives each stage a fader to push up or pull back. Trim a kick's decay so it stops spilling into the snare, calm a spiky acoustic attack, or put the kick on the sidechain to tighten a bassline. It is built for single tracks such as drums, synths and acoustic instruments; for whole mixes and mastering, Newfangled points to its sibling, Punctuate.
