Overview
Patterns inside the noise.
Generate is a polyphonic synthesiser developed by Newfangled Audio and distributed by Eventide. Its chaotic oscillator grew from asking how a double pendulum would sound sped up to audio rate, motion that seems random yet hides patterns. Each of its eight types can fade from a plain sine into harmonics, grit and noise before wavefolders and a Buchla-style low pass gate shape it. Almost every control takes modulation, and modulators can drive one another, so pads, basses and textures keep moving. It needs an iLok account but no dongle.
