Punctuate is a transient shaper from Newfangled Audio, distributed by Eventide, that grew out of the Transient Emphasis stage in the Elevate mastering limiter. It divides audio into the 26 critical bands of human hearing and shapes the attack in each one, all steered by four main controls. Lift a kick without swelling the bass, separate hi-hats from a snare mic or put snap back into a flat, overcompressed mix. It needs an iLok account but no dongle.
