Melodyne 5 studio comes to owners of Melodyne studio 3 as an update covering both later versions. Melodyne 4 brought the overtone-based Sound Editor and DNA-based tempo detection; version 5 adds separate handling of sibilants and breaths, note-based fades, the Leveling Macro and chord recognition with a Chord Track. A double-click now corrects each note's pitch from its musically crucial moment, not its whole length. Activation is by computer or a second- or third-generation iLok dongle, with internet access needed the first time.
