The Melodyne 5 studio update exchanges your Melodyne 4 studio licence for version 5 and a new serial number. Version 5 separates voiceless consonants and breath sounds from the pitched part of each sung note, so transposing a word leaves the pitch of its sibilants untouched. Chord recognition fills a Chord Track whose grid can snap notes to the current chord, while per-note fades and a Leveling Macro reach inside chords. Version 4 projects open and sound as before, but projects saved in 5 will not open in 4, the two versions cannot share one DAW, and going back is usually not possible.
