Crystals.
Twin reverse pitch shifters and reverb for cascading echoes.
£75
Overview
Echoes that climb, then crystallise.
Crystals, a classic H3000 Harmonizer effect, pairs two reverse pitch shifters with delays and a reverb. Each voice is a reverse granular delay with its own length and pitch, for repeats that can climb or cascade. The plug-in can make synths, guitars and vocals sound bigger, build huge reverbs, drop a vocal an octave for a woozy effect or, with long delays and high feedback, act as an ambient looper.
Highlights
Four-octave range per pitch shifter, two down to two up
Independent delays of up to 4 seconds, each with feedback
Reverb with decay times reaching 100 seconds
Micro-pitch each voice around a fourth, fifth or octave
RIBBON morphs many parameters at once in real time
Hold FLEX to lift both voices an octave higher
MIXLOCK keeps the wet/dry balance while you browse presets
Requires an iLok account; no physical dongle needed
