ICONIC.
Sampled vintage synths and keys for classic hit sounds.
Overview
Classic hardware with modern teeth.
ICONIC gathers rare synths and keys, among them the ARP 2600, Minimoog Model D, Sequential Prophet-5, Yamaha CS-80 and Synclavier II, with patches led by Anthony Marinelli, the synth programmer on Michael Jackson's Thriller. EastWest recorded them direct in its Studio 1, made tape-saturated alternatives and re-amped them in Studio 2 so room mics can join the dry sound. The presets rebuild famous sounds on the same or similar hardware rather than sampling the records. Every control sits on one page, and the instruments target pop, hip hop and EDM.
