DeFilter estimates a correction filter from the recording itself, then evens out the frequency balance, smoothing resonant peaks, dips and the comb filtering of an untreated room. Aim it at a speech or music target, let it read one from the signal, or load a reference to match ADR to production sound, or one microphone to another. An emphasis curve concentrates the correction on problem regions and leaves balanced ones alone, so voices, field recordings and instruments keep their own character.
