Overview
The room is part of the instrument.
Etude is a Yamaha C3X grand piano for HALion, chromatically sampled at 12 dynamic layers in a room acoustically built for playing pianos. Its mixer blends four mic positions (Player, Mid, Tail and Room), and the sustain and sympathetic resonances can be adjusted, alongside adaptive release samples and piano noises. Steinberg pitches it at scoring as well as classical, jazz and pop writing. It plays in HALion 7 or the free HALion Sonic 7, and needs an internet connection for account sign-up, download, activation and registration.
