XO Expansion: Phonk.
Crushed drum machine presets and tuned cowbells for XO.
£29
Overview
Built to sound broken.
The Phonk expansion fills XO with low-tuned, resampled drum machines, bit-crushed and heavily saturated. Snares in the 808 and 909 mould are layered with foley and white noise, the hats are tight synthesised hits, and tuned synth cowbells sit on top. All 75 presets are voiced to drive XO's Master Soft Clipper, so the missing high end comes back as harmonic warmth, and varispeed pitch variations move a beat between fast drift energy and slowed underground grooves. It needs XO, sold separately.
