XLN Audio installation.

XLN Audio products are installed and unlocked through XLN Online Installer. Set aside about ten minutes. You will need the activation code from your licence email.

How to install and activate

Register your key

    Find your product key

    It is near the top of your licence email. XLN product keys start with R- and are made of short dashed groups (they look like R-1001-10-123456-ABCD or R-ADAD-123456-ABC-DEF). You use this key once, in step 3; after that your product is tied to your XLN account and the key is never needed again.

    It is in your licence email, in the purple panel. Signed in? It is in your account too.

    Log in to xlnaudio.com, or create a free XLN account

    Go to the Register Product page. If you are not logged in it sends you to the login page first: sign in, or choose Register to create an XLN account with an email address you actually check. Once you are in, you land on the Register Product page.

    Type your product key into the Register Product page

    Paste or type the whole key from your licence email, dashes included, and submit it. The product is now unlocked in your XLN account.

    TIPNothing is emailed back to you and there is no second code: the proof that it worked is the product appearing in your account and, in the next step, in the XLN Online Installer. More than one product on your order? Each has its own key; register them one after another.

Install your products

    Download and install the XLN Online Installer

    Download the XLN Online Installer for your computer using the links below. On a Mac, open the .dmg and double-click the installer icon; it asks for your Mac password so it can write to your hard drive. On Windows, run the .exe (64-bit only). It is one program for everything XLN makes.

    TIPIf your anti-virus or firewall asks, allow the XLN Online Installer; it needs internet access to fetch your products.

    Log in to the Online Installer and install your products

    Open the XLN Online Installer and log in with the same XLN account. Everything registered to your account is listed; press Install next to each product you bought. The installer downloads, installs and authorises it in one go, so there is nothing to type into the plug-in afterwards.

    TIPYou will also see products you do not own, offered as free trials. That is normal; only the ones you registered are authorised.

    CHECKPOINT

    The product shows as installed in the Online Installer. Open your music program (Logic Pro, Ableton Live, FL Studio, Pro Tools, any of them) and the plug-in loads without a trial notice.

Expansions and add-on packs for a product you already own (Addictive Drums 2 ADpaks, MIDIpaks and Kitpiece Paks, Addictive Keys instruments, XO expansions) register with their own key in exactly the same way and then appear inside the parent product once the Online Installer has installed them. Some products let you choose which content they include; XLN asks you to pick on the Selectable Content page in your account before the product appears in the installer. Rent-to-Own plans are sold by XLN directly and not through us.

If something goes wrong

My code is not accepted

Codes are entered exactly as sent — paste rather than retype, and keep or drop dashes exactly as the steps say. Still stuck? Contact us with your order number and we will sort it, usually the same day.

The plug-in does not show up in my music program

Check you installed the format your program uses and rescan its plug-in folders. The XLN Audio help pages cover each program's scan settings.

I bought this but have no email

Check spam first — licence emails arrive within minutes of payment. Nothing there? Contact us and we will resend it.

Do I need the XLN Audio app?

Yes — XLN Audio installs and licenses everything through its own app; the guide above starts there.
