One installer per plugin

Waldorf installation.

Waldorf releases a separate installer for each plugin, so you only download the ones you bought. Set aside about ten minutes. You will need the activation code from your licence email.

How to install and activate

Redeem your coupon

  1. 1

Sign in to myWaldorf — or create an account

Go to the My Waldorf page on waldorfmusic.com. If you have an account, log in. If not, use the Register box on the same page: enter your email address, solve the small "Are you human?" sum, and Waldorf emails you a link to set your password.

    Open ↗
TIPAvoid an email address with a "+" sign in it — Waldorf's activation does not accept those.

    CHECKPOINT

You are logged in and see your account menu, including "Redeem Coupon" and "License Keys".

  2. 2

Open "Redeem Coupon" and enter your code

In your account, go to "Redeem Coupon". Waldorf calls the code in your licence email a coupon code — paste or type it into the box and confirm. That turns the coupon into a licence in your account.

    Open ↗
TIPThe coupon code and the licence key you will see in the next step are different things — and neither is what you type into the plug-in. The plug-in wants the activation data.

    Your activation code

It is in your licence email, in the purple panel. Signed in? It is in your account too.

    CHECKPOINT

Your plug-in now appears under "License Keys".

Install and unlock

  1. 3

Go to "License Keys" and download the installer

Open "License Keys" (also labelled "license keys, plugin downloads"). Each plug-in you own is listed with two things: its activation data, and on the right-hand side the download links for macOS and Windows. Download the installer for your computer — one per plug-in.

    Open ↗
TIPKeep this page open, or copy the activation data somewhere safe — you will need it in step 5.
  2. 4

    Run the installer

Open the file you downloaded and follow the prompts, accepting the standard choices. It installs the plug-in in the formats your music program needs (VST, VST3, AU on Mac, and AAX for Pro Tools).

    CHECKPOINT

    The installer has finished.

  3. 5

Open the plug-in and type in your activation data

Open the plug-in inside the music program you use — Logic Pro, Ableton Live, Cubase, FL Studio, Pro Tools, any of them. On first use it asks you to activate: enter the activation data shown under "License Keys" in step 3. Waldorf's own advice: use the activation data, not the licence key, and type it in by hand rather than pasting it.

TIPActivation refused? Try it once inside a different program — GarageBand on Mac, or the free VSTHost/SAVIHost on Windows — then load it again in the program you normally use.

    CHECKPOINT

The plug-in opens without asking to activate. You can repeat this on up to three of your computers.

Each plug-in you bought has its own entry under "License Keys" with its own activation data and downloads — repeat steps 3 to 5 for each. One licence covers up to three computers at the same time. These codes are for the Mac and Windows plug-ins; Waldorf's iPad apps are separate products and are not unlocked by them.

If something goes wrong

My code is not accepted

Codes are entered exactly as sent — paste rather than retype, and keep or drop dashes exactly as the steps say. Still stuck? Contact us with your order number and we will sort it, usually the same day.

The plug-in does not show up in my music program

Check you installed the format your program uses and rescan its plug-in folders. The Waldorf help pages cover each program's scan settings.

I bought this but have no email

Check spam first — licence emails arrive within minutes of payment. Nothing there? Contact us and we will resend it.

I bought several products

Each product has its own installer, and codes only unlock the product they were issued for — work down your order one at a time.
