Newfangled Audio installation.

Newfangled Audio releases a separate installer for each plugin, so you only download the ones you bought. Set aside about ten minutes. You will need the activation code from your licence email.

How to install and activate

Register your licence

    Log in to your Eventide account, or create one

    Newfangled Audio plug-ins are registered on Eventide's website. Go to eventideaudio.com and click Log In at the top of the page. You will see an Eventide Login box asking for a username or email address and a password. If you have never had an Eventide account, click Create An Account under the Sign In button — it is free and takes a minute. Use an email address you actually check.

    TIPAn Eventide account is not the same as an iLok account. You will set up or link your iLok account in the next step.

    Register your License Key

    Once logged in, open My Account and choose Register Products. Type the code from your licence email into the License Key box exactly as printed — three groups of letters and numbers joined by dashes, like A1B2-C3D4-E5F6. The form also asks for your iLok account: if you do not have one, create it right there on the registration page; if you do, enter your existing iLok username so the licence lands in the account you already use.

    TIP"Invalid License Key"? Check for a stray space before or after the code and that every dash is in place. Still rejected? Contact Eventide support with the code.

    Your activation code

    It is in your licence email, in the purple panel. Signed in? It is in your account too.

    Your licence is now in your iLok account. Nothing else arrives by email — the licence lives in iLok, not in a code.

Install your plug-in

    Install iLok License Manager

    Newfangled Audio plug-ins need the free iLok License Manager on your computer. Go to ilok.com, download iLok License Manager for Mac or Windows, and install it. Open it once and sign in with your iLok username and password — you should see your new licence listed under All Licenses.

    TIPEventide's own plug-ins skip this step, but Newfangled Audio's do not — without iLok License Manager installed the plug-in cannot activate.

    Download and run the installer for your plug-in

    Each plug-in has its own installer, hosted by Eventide. Open the Newfangled Audio downloads page, find your plug-in and click Download Mac or Download Win — the link takes you to eventideaudio.com, which is normal. Open the file you downloaded and follow the prompts; the standard choices are right for almost everyone.

    TIPThe installer is the same one used for the free 14-day trial. That is expected — the licence in your iLok account is what makes it the full version. If asked which formats to install, keep the ones already ticked; add AAX if you use Pro Tools.

Activate

    Open the plug-in and sign in to iLok when asked

    Start the music program you use — Logic Pro, Ableton Live, Pro Tools, Cubase, FL Studio, any of them — and open the plug-in on a track. The first time it loads, an activation window appears. Enter your iLok username and password — the iLok login from step 2, not your Eventide login and not the code from your licence email — then choose where to activate: this computer or an iLok USB key if you have one. Each licence can be active in two places at once.

    TIPPlug-in missing from your music program? Rescan plug-ins in its preferences. Activation says no licences are available? Open iLok License Manager and check the licence is in your account and activated to this computer.

    CHECKPOINT

    The plug-in opens with no trial notice. You are done.

Fixate:Midrange, Recirculate, Articulate and EQuivocate are made by Newfangled Audio and sold, registered and supported through Eventide — so the steps send you to eventideaudio.com, not newfangledaudio.com. That is correct. Fixate:Midrange EDU is the education edition: it installs and activates exactly like the full version. Crossgrades and loyalty upgrades: if you bought one, the plug-in may say there are no licences in your account the first time it activates — follow the on-screen instructions, open iLok License Manager, surrender the licence it names, then activate again.

If something goes wrong

My code is not accepted

Codes are entered exactly as sent — paste rather than retype, and keep or drop dashes exactly as the steps say. Still stuck? Contact us with your order number and we will sort it, usually the same day.

The plug-in does not show up in my music program

Check you installed the format your program uses and rescan its plug-in folders. The Newfangled Audio help pages cover each program's scan settings.

I bought this but have no email

Check spam first — licence emails arrive within minutes of payment. Nothing there? Contact us and we will resend it.

I bought several products

Each product has its own installer, and codes only unlock the product they were issued for — work down your order one at a time.
