EastWest installation.

EastWest products are installed and unlocked through EastWest Installation Center. Set aside about ten minutes. You will need the activation code from your licence email.

How to install and activate

Register your code

    Find your licence code

    It is near the top of your licence email: five groups of four characters (it looks like ABCD EFGH IJKL MNOP QRST). This is the code you register with EastWest in the next step. It works once; after that your licence lives in your iLok account and you will not need the code again.

    Your activation code

    It is in your licence email, in the purple panel. Signed in? It is in your account too.

    Go to the EastWest License Registration page

    The page has two halves. New to EastWest? Fill in the New Customer side with your email, name and a password; that creates your EastWest account. Already have one? Use the Existing Customer side and press LOGIN.

    TIPThe password needs at least 8 characters including an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter, a number and a symbol.

    Fill in the iLok account box, then your licence code, and press REGISTER

    EastWest keeps your licence in an iLok account. If you already have one, type its account name (your iLok User ID) in the ILOK ACCOUNT box. If you have never used iLok, leave it blank and EastWest creates an iLok account for you and shows it in My Account at soundsonline.com. Then type the code from your licence email into the LICENSE CODE box and press REGISTER.

    TIPTake care with the iLok box: EastWest says the iLok account you link here cannot be changed afterwards. If you already use iLok for other plug-ins, enter that account now.

    CHECKPOINT

    You see "Thank you! Your license code has been registered." with a link to download the EastWest Installation Center.

Install your library

    Download and install the EastWest Installation Center

    Download the Installation Center for your computer (Mac or Windows) using the links below, unzip it and run the installer. This one program downloads every EastWest library you own and activates its licence; there is no separate installer per product.

    TIPThe download is large (over 300 MB). The library files it then fetches are much larger again, so before you start, make a folder on a drive with plenty of free space, such as one called EastWest Libraries, to point it at.

    Open the Installation Center, log in and activate your licence

    Open the EastWest Installation Center and log in with the EastWest account you used on the registration page. Your new product is listed. Activate its licence to this computer (a Machine License) or to an iLok USB key if you use one, then press Download next to the product and choose the folder you made.

    TIPStuck on "Initializing"? The Installation Center is trying to reach the iLok server; check your internet connection and any firewall, then try again. Moving a licence to another computer later is done in the iLok License Manager.

    CHECKPOINT

    The library finishes downloading and shows as installed and licensed in the Installation Center.

    Open it in your music program

    Open the music program you use (Logic Pro, Ableton Live, Cubase, Pro Tools or any other) and load the EastWest Opus plug-in, or the Play plug-in for the few older libraries that still use it. Your library appears in its browser, ready to play.

Bundles (for example Pop Production Bundle, Fantasy Bundle, DrumX and Iconic Bundle): register your code the same way; the libraries it covers then appear in the Installation Center for download and activation. If a library you expected is missing after registering, contact us with your order number before registering anything else. ComposerCloud subscriptions: register the code the same way; the subscription's licences are iLok licences managed through the Installation Center and your iLok account for as long as the subscription runs. Opus, the player EastWest libraries run in, needs no separate code: EastWest licenses it when you own any current library or a ComposerCloud subscription.

If something goes wrong

My code is not accepted

Codes are entered exactly as sent — paste rather than retype, and keep or drop dashes exactly as the steps say. Still stuck? Contact us with your order number and we will sort it, usually the same day.

The plug-in does not show up in my music program

Check you installed the format your program uses and rescan its plug-in folders. The EastWest help pages cover each program's scan settings.

I bought this but have no email

Check spam first — licence emails arrive within minutes of payment. Nothing there? Contact us and we will resend it.
