Celemony installation.

Celemony is a single download that you activate the first time you open it. Set aside about ten minutes. You will need the activation code from your licence email.

How to install and activate

Register

    Register your serial number with Celemony

    The code in your licence email is your Melodyne serial number — the licence itself. Go to Celemony's registration page; it asks for one thing: "To continue, please enter your serial number." Type it in and press Register, then follow the prompts to create your Celemony user account (email address and password). If you already have a Celemony account, click "I already have a user account" and log in instead — the serial is added to that account.

    TIPMelodyne bought from Celemony's own shop skips this step because the account is created at checkout. Bought from us, you register the serial yourself — it takes a minute.

    Your activation code

    It is in your licence email, in the purple panel. Signed in? It is in your account too.

Install

    Download the installer from your user account

    Still logged in, find the download for your Melodyne — the account offers the installation program for Mac or Windows. There is only one Melodyne installer: it installs the stand-alone Melodyne program and all the plug-in versions (VST3, AU, AAX) at once, and your serial decides which edition — essential, assistant, editor or studio — you get.

    Run the installer

    Open the file you downloaded and follow the prompts. Say yes to the standard choices — it puts Melodyne in your Applications folder (Mac) or Program Files (Windows) and the plug-ins where your music program will find them.

    TIPThe same installer is used whichever edition you bought — essential, assistant, editor or studio. Your serial, not the download, sets the edition.

Activate

    Open Melodyne on its own and click "Activate"

    Start the stand-alone Melodyne program (not inside your music program yet). A box appears — click "Activate". It takes you online to Celemony's page: log in with the account from step 1, and your computer is activated. You need an internet connection for this first activation, and you may be asked for the serial number again.

    TIPYour licence allows Melodyne on one computer at a time, plus one spare "emergency" activation. To move to a new computer later, log in to your user account and deactivate the old one under "License options".

    CHECKPOINT

    Melodyne opens fully, with no activation request. Done.

    Use Melodyne inside your music program

    Open the music program you use — Logic Pro, Cubase, Studio One, Pro Tools, Ableton Live, Reaper and so on — and find Melodyne among its plug-ins, or as an ARA extension where the program supports it. The activation from step 4 covers the plug-ins too.

    TIPThe Help menu inside Melodyne has a "License" item that takes you straight to your Celemony account if you ever need it.
Upgrades (for example assistant to editor, or editor to studio): your upgrade code is a new serial number — register it in the same Celemony account as the edition you already own, then download and run the installer again; Melodyne becomes the bigger edition. If you use an iLok key, the new activation lands in your iLok account and must be moved onto the same key with iLok License Manager. Melodyne essential cannot be put on an iLok key at all.

If something goes wrong

My code is not accepted

Codes are entered exactly as sent — paste rather than retype, and keep or drop dashes exactly as the steps say. Still stuck? Contact us with your order number and we will sort it, usually the same day.

The plug-in does not show up in my music program

Check you installed the format your program uses and rescan its plug-in folders. The Celemony help pages cover each program's scan settings.

I bought this but have no email

Check spam first — licence emails arrive within minutes of payment. Nothing there? Contact us and we will resend it.

Do I need an account?

Only if the steps above say so — some brands licence entirely inside the software.
